In all of the planning and excitement of discussing your wedding florals, it can be hard to forget the impact that this has on our planet. We are always constantly wanting to improve our sustainability practices to push towards a greener future.
Being based at The Walled Garden, it means setting up floral arrangements is only a stones throw away from where they are created, resulting in zero fuel consumption for the majority of the delivery of our weddings.
In consultations we’ll always discuss what flowers are in season at the time of your wedding, and the locally sourced options that are available. If couples are flexible on the individual types of flowers then our focus is on the overall colour palette as opposed to set stem types.
Since opening in 2021, we have always used biodegradable wrapping and boxes for bouquets, chicken wire for low vase arrangements, and moss bases for our wreaths. Apart from receipts, business cards and flyers, we are paperless! Our meeting notes, proposals and contracts are all created and sent electronically.
In Spring 2024, we booked a large installation and sustainability course ran by Sophie’s Flower Company. This taught us lots of tips and tricks to make arrangements with reusable mechanics without using foam focusing on floral arches and urns.
This season we’ve started working with a local social enterprise, who provide floral workshops for adults with learning difficulties. Couples have the option to now donate their flowers to Pulp Friction, who are based in Nottingham, and they are used for flower pressing & bouquet making.
In June 2025 we joined Tbe Sustainable Wedding Alliance. We’re looking forward to learning more about our carbon footprint and climate change, as well as putting more sustainable strategies into practice.
